The joy of the human voice - Which is not unduly obvious, as I am about to explain

The joy of the human voice
Music clips to share! I seem to have ended up with a number of choral versions of popular songs. The song titles will remain a surprise, but I'll give you the names of the groups performing them. (Excerpts only.)

The Living Voices. Don't know anything about them. I assume this is an old recording.
Popchor Berlin. A relatively recent recording. Sorry about the sound quality.
Nouvelle Vague. Also very recent. I really like this! Okay, so it's not choral. Look 'em up, it's a cute concept.

Apparently there's a Toronto artist named Jaymz Bee who committed a different sort of transformational audio mayhem called The Deep Lounge Coalition, which I have not heard. (CD title, "Sub Urban"?)

For my French-speaking friends who are also audio masochists, I give you Chez moi, by Mme St. Onge. Apparently this is from a rare Quebec album made in the late 1960s. It was probably done this way on purpose, possibly to emulate the Mrs. Miller phenomenon. This is the full clip, so watch out. All I can say is Piercing, man, piercing. Would you mind leaving the room?

And finally, an excerpt of a ditty that I've had stuck in my head for a couple of days now. Chemistry, by Semisonic.

Current Mood: pleased pleased

My parents had an LP of "The Living Voices Sing Christmas" and it's way up there on my list of fave Christmas albums... the voices are beautiful, even recorded as they were on ancient technology... ;)

I have a Jaymz Bee CD!

Perhaps even that one.

Some catchy tunes. "Woody Alan Alda" is good. :)

They are grossly out of tune on "Eve of Destruction." I don't know how that's possible, since the original hardly has a melody, but they are. :)
