Today is another gloriously unscheduled day. Mr. Darcy is playing something on the computer; I am reading and writing, as usual. (I have a stack of books pertaining to Aphrodite, among other things.) If I get really ambitious I'll clean the kitchen, though Mr. Darcy has been very good about cleaning up after his massive fudge-making operation. (People who have been subjected to fudge, thus far: my cow orkers, photopagan, mrs_photopagan, 1_wolfsong, leeotch13, and everyone in Green Star Grove who was at Wednesday or Saturday's rituals. He's also sending as much of it to San Francisco with me as he can get away with.) I think I might get him to take me out to dinner tonight, since he's not coming to SF with me. I leave for California tomorrow, and ostensibly get in a few hours before my brother, though since he'll be coming from Delaware I'm a little dubious. I'll be in the Bay Area until next Sunday afternoon, though the 23rd through the 25th I'll be at a rental house somewhere in wine country with the fam. A couple of SF-area friends have expressed interest in doing things, and I would like to go to a beach at some point for purposes of my own (which one is fairly irrelevant; I have a Thing to do that shouldn't take long. Years and years ago dwenius and I walked to one, but I don't remember which one it was). Recommendations for things to do the evening of the 26th are also welcome. It's been an incredibly busy couple of days. Thursday, I drove into Toronto to visit with kores_rabbit. She showed me Tenacious D episodes! Later, we hooked up with commanderteddog for an evening of fish and chips and MST3K.  Teddog brought us to "The Olde Yorke," the best fish and chip place I've been to in ages, despite the silly olde timey name. I helpfully smashed her camera and threw it into pocket dimension. We then ventured to the Mystery Loblaw's and loaded up on comestibles for the evening. We watched a Robot Chicken Star Wars DVD ("Gentlemen! Good manners are their own reward!"), and Teddog received a phone call from mbehemoth, who was in the neighbourhood with his wife for her birthday dinner.  Teddog invited them over, and shortly after we were also joined by kores_rabbit's husband, Jonathan. We all watched the MST3K version of Santa Claus.  kores_rabbit making an extremely obscure MST3K joke, and it's not "I'm your biggest fan." I finally got home after midnight, and rose early to get velvetpage and the girls to their respective "last day of school" events. I think I was in the house for all of 45 minutes between 8 AM and 4 PM. Claire and I visited Elizabeth at school for her class party. The evening held Claire's Christmas recital, which took place at my old high school, and ruiskafleck's birthday party... ( When Delta's hardy boys fall into line... )Tags: family, friends
