See, I ordered a book and a DVD from Amazon back in December, and then after six weeks they did the "we say we have it in stock, but actually we don't" trick. Now - they have another copy of the same DVD (a later release) for just a few bucks cheaper, but the reason I didn't order that one is that it was two bucks shy of what it takes to get free shipping. So now I need to order something else from them, and I thought, why not another movie.
The problem is, I'm not the sort of person who buys lots of movies. My collection's quite small, and I tend to like obscure stuff that's either not on DVD, or more mainstream stuff that I wouldn't watch too often at all. (For example, I was tempted to order Ladyhawke, but... enh. That "enh" feeling hits me with a lot of films in terms of re-watching them.) I can't reasonably ask my friends what film to order, since everyone's tastes are so different, so instead I'm looking for a method - some way I can delve into my brain so that it goes "Oh yeah! I'd totally forgotten about that cool film!"
